My New Media will have to do with virtual reality. Since I am a huge fan of boxing and love going to the fights I would love to put a headset on and watch the fight ringside from the headset. This was from the comfort of my own home I am now ringside at a fight. There are many times where there are fights in Vegas or California and I can not make it there. And even when the fights are in New York a ringside ticket is super expensive. Instead of ordering it on PPV, you could pay a monthly fee and have access to all the fights happening. I think this will be cool because it is different then watching on TV. You have the full affect, the crowd screaming (which is insane and makes a fight so much better) and they should also have a lottery to win tickets to the actual fight!
This sounds pretty amazing, imagine seeing the upcoming Mayweather and Mcgregor fight this way! or the Canelo and Triple G fight. Like you mention, fights are very expensive and virtual reality can help people who are not fortunate to have to the money to see these fights live. The business is very possible with all the technology that just keeps on advancing every single day.
ReplyDeleteI think this is an amazing idea, but not in this day and age. As virtual reality headsets cost up to $399, which is pretty expensive for a piece of technology that still has wires showing and not very mobile to the user, so you wont be getting the "bang for the buck". Although, I can definitely visualize this in the next 5-10 where majority of data and information is stored on micro chips.
ReplyDeleteI love boxing matches! This can serve as a podcast or subscription service as well. Virtual reality has advanced and this feature would be interesting to see in fruition. There have been news reports on virtual headsets and videos on social medias with peoples reaction, this could be a hot new trend.
